About the Fire Chief
Chief Wallis started his fire service career in 1977 as a Junior Firefighter for the Zachary Fire / Rescue. He was hired as a Firefighter in 1980 and has held the ranks of Firefighter, Deputy Fire Chief and Fire Chief. He is married to his lovely wife (Dee) and they have a 25 year old son (Randy) and a daughter in-law (Katie).
Chief Wallis holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science and is certified as a Firefighter I, II, III, Fire Instructor I, II, Fire Officer I, and E.M.T. basic.
Chief Wallis is a firm believer in fire prevention and fire education, he has been successful along with Deputy Chief Smith in authoring a local fire sprinkler ordinance for multi-family residential occupancies, hotels, apartments and single family residential occupancies that exceed 7500 square feet.
Wallis is extremely proud of the dedicated men and women of the Zachary Fire / Rescue. He encourages all who read this to practice fire safety every day and help spread the message of fire safety to all of their friends and family.
