Fire Rating
As of December 6, 2010
The Property Insurance of Louisiana (PIAL) is the agency in charge of assessing the effectiveness of fire departments in the state of Louisiana. Each department is given a rating based on equipment, manpower, water supply and communication.
The rating is based on a scale of 1 – 10, where 1 is the best and a 10 being the worst possible class rating for a community.
All properties located inside the city limits of Zachary will continue to receive a class 2 rating.
Properties located outside of the city limits, but within East Baton Rouge Parish will continue to receive a Class 4 rating if you are located within 7 road miles of a recognized fire station.
